| Hi, does anyone have any information of how and when to prune wisterias? I bought one last year (flowered this year) and it has sprounted several long tendrils - I keep reading different things - any advice?? |

| hello emma
maybe you have solved your queries by now but here is my contribution.
each autumn, tie in the tendrils where you want the wisteria to grow, prune the rest back to the main stems.
once established, they are very vigorous and will take over your entire house and garden so you can be quite ruthless!
hope this helps - good luck
long tendrils are perfectly normal

| We had a wisteria and it grew as your did with the long tendrills. We were told to cut back leaving 5 double leaves. This we did and it flowered much better each year. Sorry for the last message - I am just learning the computer. Anyway, I see this is a year ago that you asked this question. How is the wisteria now.
